This Privacy Policy describes how Starneel Productions LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with StarStudio Prime, including the Android mobile application and its web companion application (together, the "Service").
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account and use the Service:
- Account information: the email address and password you provide when creating an account. Your password is managed directly by Firebase Authentication (a Google service) and is never visible to or stored in plain text by us.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active Pro subscription, the source of that subscription (Google Play or Stripe), and its expiration date.
- App content: a backup of your in-app work (such as canvas/drawing data) that you choose to sync, so it is available across your devices.
- Usage timestamp: the date and time your data was last synced.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to: operate your account and keep you signed in; save and restore your in-app content across devices; verify and manage your Pro subscription; and provide customer support if you contact us. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on the following third-party providers to function. Each processes certain information as described below, under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) — stores your account credentials and app data. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Play Billing — processes subscription purchases made on Android. We do not receive or store your payment card details; Google Play handles all payment information directly.
- Stripe — processes subscription purchases made through the web companion app. We do not receive or store your payment card details; Stripe handles all payment information directly. See Stripe's Privacy Policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.
- Google AdMob — serves advertisements in the free (non-subscribed) version of the mobile app, as described in the Advertising section below. See Google's ad-related privacy information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Advertising (Mobile App, Free Tier Only)
If you use the free version of the mobile app (i.e. you do not have an active Pro subscription), we show banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. Pro subscribers never see ads. To serve and measure these ads, Google AdMob may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising identifier and general device information.
- Approximate location (typically derived from IP address), used for ad relevance.
- Ad interaction data, such as impressions and clicks, for measurement and fraud prevention.
This data is collected and used by Google under Google's own privacy policy and ad policies, not directly by us — we do not receive your advertising identifier or ad interaction data ourselves. Depending on your device and region, you may be able to reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in your device's system settings. The web companion app does not currently show any advertisements.
Data Storage and Security
Your account and app data are stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with access rules that restrict each user's data to that user's own signed-in account. Subscription status fields are writable only by our own server-side systems (not by the app itself or by any user directly), to prevent tampering with subscription status.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account information and app data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the information below, or via this site's Data Deletion Request page. We will delete your data within a reasonable time after verifying your request, except where retention is required by law.
Children's Privacy
StarStudio Prime is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
Changes to This Policy
This update adds disclosure of Google AdMob advertising in the free tier of the mobile app, as promised in the prior version of this policy before ads were enabled. We may update this Privacy Policy further as the Service changes. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date.
